Artist: Didier Fournier. After an introduction to sculpture and bronze foundry at the Taba Taba art center in Bobo Dioulasso, I work at home in the Cévennes. I first sculpt in beeswax by modeling. I then cast the piece in clay. Once the mold is opened by heating, I pour the bronze into the cavity. When the mold cools, I break it to reveal the piece. After chiseling, the piece is patinated, then waxed. Thus each piece is unique (video).
My artistic approach is similar to children playing with modeling clay, just for the pleasure of creating spontaneously, letting the hands decide.
