PIPA BREZO SER JACOPO DALLA GEMMA. This pipe is a very interesting collectible piece from a prestigious manufacturer.
Manufacturer: Ser Jacopo dalla Gemma, one of the most famous brands from Pesaro, Italy, founded by Giancarlo Guidi. They are known for their motto "Per Aspera ad Astra" and for the high quality of their briar.
Line/Model: Modica. This Ser Jacopo series is characterized by a deep, tactile rustic finish, designed to be durable and comfortable to hold.
Special Edition: This is a commemorative pipe for the 2014 Campeonato de España de Fumada Lenta (Spanish Slow Smoking Championship), organized by the APC (Asociación de Pipa Clubes de España).
Shape: It appears to be a robust Pot or Apple (Chubby style), with thick walls ideal for keeping the pipe from overheating while smoking.
Finish: Rockcased / Rusticated. It has a highly pronounced, rough relief in dark tones (reddish brown and black), which helps dissipate heat and offers an excellent grip.
Shank: Features a smooth section where the engravings are, allowing the grain of the briar to be appreciated in that area.
Mouthpiece: High-quality black acrylic with a circular red (or coral) insert, which is the distinguishing mark of Ser Jacopo pipes.
Markings and Engravings
The pipe has inscriptions on both sides of the shank:
Left Side: "MODICA" and "Ser Jacopo".
Right Side: "CAMPEONATO ESPAÑA APC 2014".
This is an author’s pipe with added value as a limited edition for a national event. Ser Jacopo is a highly respected brand among collectors due to its excellent smoking engineering (smooth draw and good smoke drying).
The pipe was used on only one occasion, it is like new, however it has been cleaned and sanitized. The interior of the shank has been cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, the bowl interior has been cleaned with Niksolvol, although it was in like-new condition and not charred. The exterior of the bowl has been polished with odorless white wax.
The pipe measures 15.5 cm in length, the height of the bowl is 5 cm, the exterior diameter is 3 cm, the interior diameter is 1.8 cm.
