Anton Heyboer (1924-2005)
Due to his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer was among the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle manifested in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world', referring to his high output of art. Heyboer was trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, albeit still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on which his abstract artworks were created. Nevertheless, figurative elements always remain present in his paintings and etchings. He also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Viewings are of course possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the trade association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
