Description from the seller
Bruno Paolo Benedetti, born in 1954, began taking pictures in 1968, studying perspective and photo techniques. From the beginning he was concerned with black and white photography, observing the contrasts of nature, the lights and interpreting the reality around him. When he was 25 he began to work in the darkroom, enhancing his technique using filters, high-contrast films for making his first pictures of surreal and abstract photography. At the same time he began journeying around Europe and the world: India, Nepal, Bhutan, South America, South Africa, Egypt, Comoros islands are some of the most visited places. The study of the religions, the mysticism in all of them, inspired his artistic production, especially his surreal photography, where cultural and religious archetypes are depicted.

Venice Mystery
In this evocative nocturnal photograph, Venice emerges as a stage of light, water, and quiet intrigue. A solitary figure wrapped in a flowing red cloak stands on a wooden pier, facing the illuminated façades across the canal. The warm reflections of the historic buildings shimmer on the water, while the silhouettes of gondolas and mooring poles frame the scene with a sense of timeless stillness.
The blurred movement of the red cloak introduces an element of mystery, suggesting a fleeting presence between reality and imagination. The figure appears almost ghostlike, as if passing silently through the Venetian night. Through its dramatic contrast between darkness and glowing architectural light, the image captures both the romance and the enigmatic atmosphere that have long defined Venice.
Venice Mystery invites the viewer to step into a cinematic moment suspended between history, dream, and imagination.
