Description from the seller

Crocci pipe, churchwarden or reading model. This is a pipe of excellent craftsmanship, a collector's piece with an Italian seal.

It is a Croci pipe, an Italian handcrafted brand founded by Giancarlo Croci.

Origin: Mantua (Mantova), Italy.

Inscriptions: On the base of the shank it reads clearly: "Pipa Croci - fatta a mano - Mantova-Italia".

Age: The brand began its activity in 1983 (as indicated by the seal "dal 1983").

Features of the Piece
Model "Erba Pipa": This is one of Croci's most distinctive series. The name usually refers to organic or nature-inspired designs.

Churchwarden (Reader) Style: Due to the length of the stem, it is classified as a Churchwarden. These pipes are famous for delivering a cooler smoke thanks to the long air path, and for allowing comfortable reading (hence the name) without the smoke bothering the face.

Materials: * Briar (Briar): The bowl displays high-quality grain (bird's eye and flame).

Mouthpiece: Probably black acrylic with a decorative insert of light wood (possibly maple or a lighter briar) that gives it an elegant and somewhat uncommon touch.

Grade/Quality: A number 2 is seen next to the brand logo (a circle with a stylized cross). In Croci's system, this usually indicates the wood grade or finish, with pieces in a mid-to-high range.

Condition
At first glance, the pipe appears to be in very good condition. The wood has a healthy shine and there are no external burnouts or major damage to the mouthpiece. The metal band (tenon/virola) seems to be silver or a polished metal that reinforces the joint between the shank and the mouthpiece.

The pipe is like new, only used on one occasion, however, it has been cleaned, polished and sanitized. The interior of the shank has been cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, the interior of the bowl has been cleaned with Nikosolvol, though it was like new, without chipping. The exterior of the bowl has been polished with odorless white wax.

The pipe measures 31 cm in length, bowl height 5.8 cm, exterior diameter 3.5 cm, interior diameter 1.8 cm. It can be dismantled into 3 parts for easier cleaning.
