Piero Dorazio, Ceruleo, 2003, oil on canvas, 24 × 30 cm, framed, original edition, Italy, in excellent condition, hand-signed by the artist.
Description from the seller
Description of the work:
Splendid oil on canvas by Piero Dorazio, created in 2003.
The work "Ceruleo" represents a perfect synthesis of the chromatic and structural research that made the artist famous worldwide. Visually, the piece presents a vibrant lattice-like weave, a signature of the master. On a background of an intense, deep blue (the "Ceruleo" of the title), diagonal bands of pure colors—orange, green, yellow, white, and pink—intertwine. The overlay of marks creates a dynamic geometric grid that generates a sense of depth and pulsating light. The brushwork is confident and tactile, typical of Dorazio’s late production, where the rigid geometric rigor of his early work gives way to renewed expressive freedom and a joyful vitality of color.
A rare opportunity to acquire a work by a 20th-century master with complete traceability and an aesthetically highly representative and pleasing character. The work is sold framed in a refined white American-style crate (as in the photo) that enhances its colors.
