Description from the seller
The Gold Under the Skin explores the raw power of the human body, not idealized but deeply alive.
Fragmented, almost ripped from matter, the silhouette emerges from a chaos of textures and dark colors, pierced by splinters of gold and deep green. These luminous touches seem to surface just beneath the surface, as if the body's inner strength seeks to reveal itself despite the cracks.
The work evokes resilience, the tension between fragility and power, between what breaks and what endures. Each smear, each gesture is a trace of movement, of struggle, of vital energy.
A standing body, imperfect, but sovereign.
This painting is not content to be looked at: it asserts itself, questions, and engages in dialogue with the viewer.
Amandyne describes her artistic process as the “deconstruction of the human and of matter,” in search of a sensuous and sensory expression. She reinvents and transforms matter in order to awaken inner strength, “the pure energy of each of her models” to reveal the divine incarnate in each of us.
“I wish above all that my paintings vibrate with my passion for bodies, their mysteries, and the untamable life that moves them. Thus, I give flesh to my sensations.”
The use of the dripping technique is at the heart of her creative process.
The first reason is spontaneity and energy: it gives real dynamism to the work.
By letting jets and splashes settle on the canvas randomly, she manages to capture—within this momentary movement—the joy and sensuality of the subject. By freeing herself from constraints and total control, she can make room for emotions and her state of mind at the moment. Dripping also allows her to create on the canvas patterns and textures unique, giving her works an unpredictable dimension, to reflect all the beauty of the body.
Through the effect of successive layers of paint that overlap and intertwine, the dripping technique creates rich visuals and fascinating depth.
Each jet of ink, each splash adds a new dimension to the work, transforming the canvas into a complex field of colors and forms in interaction.
“The dripping welcomes and embraces the accidental. Each drop of paint can create a new direction or inspire a new idea, making each work an unpredictable adventure. This approach allows me to celebrate imperfection and the uniqueness of every creative moment.
In short, the dripping technique is for me a powerful means of expression that blends energy, complexity and a touch of artistic heritage. It allows me to create vibrant and alive works, where every element is the result of a spontaneous interaction between the artist, the material and chance.”
The work is sold with a certificate of authenticity and an appraisal certificate, on canvas board that can be framed.
A piece full of strength and ambiguity, made for a collector who loves owning works that make people talk, question… and vibrate.
