- Born in Las Tunas, Las Tunas Province, Cuba, (1976)

- He graduated in 1997 with a specialization in drawing and painting from the Professional School of Plastic Arts in Las Tunas.

In Genesis Circular, José Manuel Mayo Peña explores the primal force of gesture and the fluidity of color in an abstract composition of great visual impact. Executed in oil on canvas in a round format (tondo), the work stands out for its unconventional spatial configuration as well as for its chromatic intensity.
