Description of the digital emulsion transfer technique
It is a technique I have developed personally, inspired by the classic Polaroid instant film emulsion transfer, but adapted to the digital workflow. It consists of printing an image with pigment inks on a support prepared so that, when immersed in cold water, the ink layer (the emulsion) can separate and be manually transferred to a high-quality art paper. During the process the image is manipulated directly, generating slight variations, textures, and folds that turn each copy into a unique piece. Transfers can be made in different sizes—from A2 upwards—and in color or black and white. The result combines digital precision with an artisanal finish, with an image protected by a coating that covers it, so it resists scratching and offers good durability.
