Description from the seller
Jacky Ickx (1969)
Monaco Grand Prix 1969. This photo portrays the champion Jacky Ickx.
Jacky Ickx. Trained in motorcycle racing, he then dedicated himself to touring car and Formula 2 single-seater racing, with which he made his very young debut in the Formula One World Championship, at the German Grand Prix in 1966; in the top series he raced until 1979, taking part in 116 World Championship Grands Prix, achieving eight wins, thirteen pole positions, fourteen fastest laps and four hat tricks. He also competed in sixteen non-championship races, winning three. Vice-world champion in 1969 with Brabham, and in 1970 with Ferrari, he is considered one of the greatest drivers of all time who never won the world title.
The author was able to express his creativity using a very special camera, the Hasselblad SW. In fact in 1969 it was still allowed for photojournalists to shoot from the edge of the track. Today this exclusive photograph would no longer be possible.
