Description from the seller
STORY OF DOMENICO GRENCI (Calabria)
Domenico Grenci is one of the most appreciated pipemakers in Southern Italy, active in Calabria between the 1980s and 2000s.
Trained as a wood artisan, he later devoted himself to the production of Calabrian briar pipes, personally selected in the Sila mountains.
His pipes are recognizable for:
- surprisingly light weight,
- excellent draw,
- classic yet slender shapes,
- totally handmade workmanship,
- natural and warm finishes.
Grenci pipes are today highly sought after because they are produced in limited quantities, all made without the use of industrial machines, and above all because they represent one of the few examples of artisanal pipemaking in Southern Italy.
This Grenci pipe presents:
Shape: classic long Bent
Total length: 160 mm
Extremely light weight: 45 g
Material: Calabrian seasoned briar
Finish: natural, with a mixed flame/birdseye grain
Mouthpiece: hand-worked ebonite

Marking: GRENCI – CALABRIA – ITALY
The construction is 100% artisanal, with tenon and bore made by hand.
