Visual artist, born in Worms, lives and works in Düsseldorf. Studied Free Art at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Master Student of Christian Megert and Gerhard Merz. For his pictorial works he constructs in the studio architectural models and landscape-like situations from simple materials, tailored for the camera’s perspective. The starting point of the works is not excerpts from an existing reality, but empty space and the play of light and shadow. Regular exhibitions and publications in Germany and abroad, residency stipends for Paris, New York, Florence, São Paulo, Hongcheon (South Korea), Xiamen and Quanzhou (China). In 2002 he received the Villa Romana Prize for his work, in 2021 a working stipend from the Kunstfonds Foundation, and in 2024 a publication grant. For 2026 he received the state stipend of Rhineland-Palatinate for a six-month stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Since 2008 he has taught artistic photography at various universities and institutions.
