For sale is a rare and very attractive early Montblanc piston-filler of the model 334½ from the pre-war period.
The nib originates from Germany and, based on the characteristics available, dates to around 1935–1942.

The nib is an original Montblanc 14 kt gold nib with size marking 4½.
At the cap head there is the F marking, corresponding to a fine nib width. Notably, the pen writes very nicely: it is soft and lively, showing beautiful elasticity with slight line variation, i.e., a soft/semi-flex writing feel that is highly sought after for early Montblanc nibs.

The fountain pen has a piston mechanism that works.
The model also features a beautiful transparent ink window in the barrel, a typical and attractive detail of early Montblanc piston fillers. The mechanism runs, and the pen has been tested for function.

The piece bears the model designation 334½ on the barrel, matching the original model assignment.
The clip is the classic early Montblanc clip from the pre-war period and stylistically fits very well with this model. The cap crown with the old Montblanc star is also present. The shape of the nib, the engraving, the clip, and the box all speak to an authentic early specimen.

Particularly interesting for collectors is that the fountain pen is still offered with the original Simplo box. The box bears the old company name Montblanc-Simplo G.m.b.H. Hamburg 6, which further underscores the historical character of this set.
