Description from the seller
A0000002001
Example in very good overall condition, preserving the sober aesthetics and the distinctive personality of Waterman vest-pocket pens from the early 20th century.
The body and cap in black ebonite present a uniform, deep tone with a natural satin sheen appropriate to its age. Micro-surface signs of use and light marks from the passage of time are visible only under direct light and upon close inspection. No structural cracks, fissures, or deformations are observed. The threads retain a good fit and allow a firm and secure closure.
The original Waterman’s Ideal nib in solid 14K gold is complete and well aligned. The engraving remains clearly legible. It shows natural patina and light surface marks consistent with its age, without material loss or aggressive alterations. The heart-shaped breather hole is well defined. The ebonite feed remains properly positioned and seated.
The eyedropper system is intact, with a clean and functional interior. No alterations to the internal threads or visible repairs are observed.
Overall, it is an authentic and honest piece, with light wear appropriate for more than a century of age, without invasive restorations and preserving its original character.
Pen ready for collection or careful use.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
Happy bidding!
