Carmen Morillo is a Spanish visual artist, graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. Her career centers mainly on painting, with solid training in realism and figuration, complemented by personal research on gesture, material, and the representation of the human figure. She has expanded her training through specialized courses in drawing, realism, and figurative painting at institutions such as the Casa Ibáñez Museum (Almería) and the University of Seville.
Her work has been recognized with various national painting prizes, including the National Painting Prize José Arpa and the Second Prize of the National Painting Contest “Ocaña,” as well as with a residency grant in Paisaje Altea (Alicante). Simultaneously, she has developed mural art projects in public spaces, also receiving local recognitions in this field.
For several years she has balanced her artistic practice with teaching in visual arts, experience that has contributed to consolidating her technical mastery and reflection on painting processes. Currently, she has decided to step back from teaching to focus her work on studio painting, developing a continuous personal output oriented toward original works and exhibition formats.
