Description from the seller
Modular Abstraction is a pictorial series that investigates the possibilities of geometric language through repetition, rhythm, and the articulation of visual modules. Each work is built as a closed structure yet open to multiple readings, where flat shapes and defined contours compose an autonomous visual system.
Painting is presented here as an inscription surface, where simple figures — rectangles, triangles, semicircles — are assembled into unique combinations, evoking architectural structures, symbols, fragments of possible alphabets. The compositions do not refer to an external reality but are proposed as self-sufficient entities, capable of generating meaning through formal order.
The use of restricted palettes — with one or two accent colors and neutral backgrounds — intensifies the perception of balance and contrast, while fine black lines precisely delineate the planes, reinforcing an aesthetic of restraint and clarity. The absence of textures, gradients, or volumetric effects allows each module to maintain its own entity while contributing to an organic totality.
In a world saturated with images and stimuli, Modular Abstraction offers a visual pause: a contemplation of order, of boundary, of the infinite possibility hidden in the minimum. Each work is a system, a unit, a visual score offered as a silent enigma to the viewer.
