Description from the seller
Anton Heyboer (1924-2005)
Due to his unconventional way of life, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle manifested itself in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world,' referring to his prolific output. Heyboer trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, though still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on the basis of which his abstract artworks emerged. Yet figurative elements always remain present in his paintings and etchings. He also clarified the themes of his work with text, in which human relationships often play a role.
Framed works.
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
