About the artist:
Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses tools of digital intelligence; she currently lives and works in Alicante, Spain. This young Cuban talent has established herself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, landscape and the intimate relationship between woman and her surroundings. Her works gently and boldly address topics such as beauty, love, sensuality and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic and refined atmospheres.
With a vibrant and expressive aesthetic, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, resulting in versatile, fresh and deeply evocative works. The pictorial texture of her images, the masterful use of color and the emotionally balanced composition position her work as a current artistic proposal of high aesthetic value.

The artist uses the hero’s body as a fragmented and repaired sculpture. His skin and clothing are dominated by a ceramic-white and indigo-blue base, upon which a dense network of veins of pure gold is projected. These golden veins, characteristic of Kintsugi, suggest that each battle, each wound and each limit overcome have not diminished his being, but have rebuilt it with a material of incalculable value. The gold is, in this context, the precious memory that fuels his power.
The presence of the golden dragon, symbol of imperial power, wisdom and indomitable strength in Oriental culture, envelops the character and his energy. This dragon, also executed with fragmented and golden patterns, functions as an extension of the hero’s own Kintsugi aura: his vital strength and divinity are not innate, but forged through the cycle of destruction and reconstruction. The dramatic contrast between the golden light and the darkness of the background emphasizes the nobility of accepted suffering, elevating the pop hero’s figure to the status of a deity of resilience.
