About the artist:
Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses tools of digital intelligence; she currently lives and works in Alicante, Spain. Owner and partner of a company dedicated to the sale, representation and development of artists and artworks, Velázquez combines her business vision with a deep artistic sensibility.
This young Cuban talent has established herself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, landscape and the intimate relationship between woman and her surroundings. Her works gently and boldly address topics such as beauty, love, sensuality and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic and refined atmospheres.

The artist uses the hero’s body as a fragmented and repaired sculpture. His skin and clothing are dominated by a ceramic-white and indigo-blue base, upon which a dense network of veins of pure gold is projected. These golden veins, characteristic of Kintsugi, suggest that each battle, each wound and each limit overcome have not diminished his being, but have rebuilt it with a material of incalculable value. The gold is, in this context, the precious memory that fuels his power.
The presence of the golden dragon, symbol of imperial power, wisdom and indomitable strength in Oriental culture, envelops the character and his energy.
