Max Kreijn, Reflections, oil painting (1980), 70 × 70 cm, hand-signed, original edition, sold by Galerie, framed, in good condition; subject: architecture, style: Realism; colours: grey and blue.
Description from the seller
In this work, Max Kreijn presents a simple window in a quiet, still composition. Through the play of light and shadow, the everyday object takes on a nearly monumental presence. As is often the case in his work, it is not the object itself that is central, but the atmosphere, space, and attention to form.
After studying architecture for a few years at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Kreijn continued his education in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. He then took courses under the guidance of, among others, R. B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After completing his studies, he first moved to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he devoted himself intensely to painting. For over forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina, and Australia. This international background and broad artistic formation are reflected in his work, in which architecture, atmosphere, and personal perception come together.
Dimensions: 70 x 70 cm
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house frame shop, celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, please let us know.
