Parker Vacumatic Major fountain pen from the United States, with a brown laminated celluloid body and cap featuring gold laminations, a gold-plated cap and band, a 14K solid gold nib with the arrow motif, 13 cm long and 1.3 cm in diameter, 1 piece, in working order and in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
This Parker Vacumatic fountain pen is presented in very good overall condition, highlighting the elegance and distinctive character of Parker models from the mid-20th century. The body and cap, crafted in the characteristic Vacumatic laminated celluloid in brown tone with gold laminations, retain a deep and attractive gloss that enhances the visual richness of the material. The translucent pattern remains well defined, allowing appreciation of Parker's original design beauty. There are light micro-scratches typical of use and the passage of time, completely consistent with the piece's age, with no cracks or structural damage.
The faceted cap with Parker arrow-shaped clip presents very good aesthetic appearance. The golden clip retains a clean, functional look, while the broad decorated cap band keeps its engraving visible and well defined, with moderate wear in line with its age.
The original Parker nib, solid 14-karat gold, decorated with the iconic arrow motif, is in excellent condition, well aligned and without visible deformities. The ebonite feed retains its well-defined and properly positioned fins, ensuring a steady ink flow.
The Vacumatic filling system with diaphragm is complete, preserving its original structure. The pen has been inspected and tested for proper operation, and is ready for use or addition to a collection.
Overall, it is a very attractive and well-preserved example that retains intact the technical and aesthetic spirit of one of Parker's most emblematic fountain pens.
Conservation recommendations
To properly preserve this fountain pen, use high-quality fountain pen inks, avoiding pigmented inks or inks with particles. If the pen is not used for an extended period, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it carefully before storing, and keep it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The filling system should be operated gently at all times to ensure its longevity.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper conservation.
