Description from the seller
This painting presents a tranquil river landscape inspired by the rural scenery of Vietnam. A small wooden boat rests quietly on the still water, surrounded by gentle riverbanks and lush greenery. The composition captures a peaceful moment in nature, where the calm surface of the river reflects the surrounding landscape and sky.
Through expressive brushwork and subtle variations of green and earth tones, the artist evokes the atmosphere of traditional countryside life. The textures of the land and water create a harmonious balance between movement and stillness, inviting the viewer to pause and contemplate the quiet beauty of the scene.
The presence of simple wooden structures along the river suggests traces of everyday life, while the empty boat becomes a poetic symbol of solitude and reflection. The elevated perspective allows the viewer to observe the landscape from above, revealing the natural curves of the riverbank and the rhythm of the terrain.
Painted in oil on canvas, the work demonstrates the artist’s sensitivity to landscape and atmosphere. The painting reflects both the tradition of Vietnamese landscape painting and a contemporary expressive approach.
Duy Dat graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and has been living and working in Paris for several years. His paintings often explore themes of memory, nature, and the emotional relationship between people and their homeland.
This artwork invites the viewer into a quiet and contemplative landscape, capturing a timeless moment of rural life.
