Sergio Romero is a self-taught visual artist who since 2020 has been developing an abstract language based on gestural repetition and the progressive construction of linear structures that emerge from a deeply intuitive process.
His works are built from networks of lines that organically expand across the surface, generating graphic systems where each stroke responds to both the bodily gesture and the rhythm of thought. The drawing begins without a predefined center and grows freely on the support, allowing the structure to organize as the image develops.
Once this initial network is established, color appears as a force that activates the spaces created by the structure, introducing focal points of intensity that reinforce the visual architecture of the composition.
As the artist himself notes:
"My works are born from intuition, but they always end up constructing a precise architecture."
In this sense, his creative process can be understood as a progressive journey in which the work begins as intuition, grows as a system, and ends as architecture.
The repetition of the stroke functions as a process of concentration and progressive construction, where line, rhythm, and color integrate into compositions that evoke mental cartographies or expanding visual systems. His artistic practice thus develops as a territory of exploration where gesture, structure, and intuition combine into a unique visual language.
Over the years his work has evolved organically, developing in parallel with his own life experience. Without adhering to a prior program, each work forms part of a continuous process where the visual language naturally transforms as the artist advances in his practice.
In 2025 he received the Artist of the Year Award granted by the president of the International Federation of Culture and Art in South Korea, and he has been recognized as an Akoun-certified artist.
Sergio Romero’s work has gained international reach in recent years, participating in exhibitions and art fairs in cities such as Madrid, Paris, Dubai, Berlin, Zurich, Venice, Barcelona, Athens, and Palma.
