This is a photograph from the photo artist Frank Machalowski.
There is an artist stamp with title, year, edition and sign on the back of the passe-partout.
It is an original hand-printed print. The image was printed on baryta paper using the lith printing process. Lith printing is a darkroom technique of overexposing a black & white, infrared, or color negative onto a suitable gelatin silver paper, and then only partially developing it in a very dilute Lith developer. This can produce prints with special properties and characteristics in terms of tonal distribution and response to toners.
The photo was taken in a forest with a old Hasselblad camera on 6x6 bw film.
The photo was glued onto 1mm cardboard and mounted in a black passe-partout.
