This colorful lithograph titled “Flevoland” is a work by Corneille (1922–2010), one of the co-founders of the CoBrA movement (along with, among others, Karel Appel and Constant). His work is characterized by vivid colors, playful forms, and recurring themes such as birds, women, and exotic landscapes.
This lithograph, printed in 2004, is numbered 52 of 200 copies and is in excellent condition. The piece has never been framed, which has kept the colors particularly fresh.
Corneille’s art remains globally beloved for its expressive style and optimistic look — Flevoland is a beautiful example of his late, mature period in which color and fantasy are central.
