Description from the seller
Alberto Venditti is a prominent Italian artist and graphic designer, whose expressive research has for decades focused on the dialogue between painting marks and documentary memory.
Educated in a climate of great cultural ferment, Venditti has developed a highly personal style that fuses classical figuration with the avant-garde of collage and décollage. His works are characterized by a strong material stratification: faces, often charged with melancholy and spiritual intensity, emerge from backgrounds composed of fragments of musical scores, technical texts, and old newspapers.
This technique, defined as polymaterial serigraphy, has allowed him to transcend the traditional notion of 'print' to arrive at an art that is almost sculptural on paper. Venditti has exhibited in numerous national and international galleries, and his graphics are sought after by collectors for their ability to combine aesthetic elegance with a deep social and historical reflection.
The central subject, the faces of children rendered with a minimal and melancholy line, rises from a substrate of old texts, scores, and cutouts that seem to evoke a forgotten collective story. At the top, the silhouette of a bird (dove?) made from newspaper scraps pierces the blue sky, becoming a powerful symbol of freedom and a messenger of a possible future.
The deliberate use of color — the ethereal blue, the ochre earth tones, and that vivid touch of red on the right — creates a dynamic balance that draws the eye and invites reflection. Being a Prova d'Autore (P.A.) piece, the work has added value: it represents one of the early examples approved directly by the artist, preserving intact all the freshness of the original mark.
