AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Andréas Lang (Zweibrücken, 1965 - present)
Photographer and videographer and German who resided in Paris from 1990 to 2001, his early works focused on landscape and nature, to later center on historical and mythological investigations in different areas of colonial conflicts such as Egypt, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, among others. He also has multiple cinematographic projects.

In 2009, he undertakes an exhibition called Sous Les Ogives (Under the Ogives), collaborating with the Workshop of Joan Barbarà. In it, he presents nine photogravures (polymer aquatint), along with writings from the third book of Notre Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo. This photogravure is the fifth. Alongside the text, it speaks of a monument in a state of transition, the beauty of the stones no longer exists, returning to Notre Dame as a ghost. In the image we can see silhouettes of people, blurred, resembling shadows, giving us a sensory experience of what Victor Hugo wants to express.

Part of the homonymous photobook. The artist signed only the first page; this photogravure is from the same book and hence, edition.
Edition 17/50. Printed by Tbe Barcelona (Tristan Barbarà editions).
