Giennadij Pitsko – a fine artist of Polish origin, born in 1970. In 1991 he graduated from an artistic high school in the ceramics department. Since 1991 he has been engaged in painting and ceramics. Since 1992 he has been involved in various artistic projects. His works are bright, colorful narratives about what surrounds him. Giennadij Pitsko’s dynamic painting is characterized by warm, vibrant and saturated color palettes, an atmosphere of fantasy and the sensational presence of women, as well as the ability to manipulate the texture of paint applied with a spatula on canvas. The artist uses a brush and a spatula. Pitsko’s painting is highly recognizable thanks to its distinctive color scheme, reflecting an influence of French artists such as Claude Monet and Amadeo Modigliani. Twenty years ago in Sopot he saw an exhibition by Jerzy Duda-Gracz and, at first sight, fell in love with creating with spatulas. Since then he has consistently worked in this technique. He also rejected the traditional way of depicting figures, instead drawing on the experiences of contemporary painters. Giennadij Pitsko’s works are in the collections of both institutions and private collectors as well as in other European countries and beyond Europe. The artist has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and plein-air events, both solo and group.
Currently he lives and works in Rumia.
