Description from the seller

Rwanda 1994, the Hutus fleeing the advance of the Rwandan Patriotic Front, mostly Tutsi. Butaré Road

José Nicolas is a French photographer whose work sits at the intersection of documentary and personal writing. After several years of reporting, he develops a reflection on image, memory and the gaze, with particular attention paid to the archive, to the book and to analog photography. He is notably the author of On est ce que l’on regarde, a work produced following an award from SAIF, and today he runs a photography gallery in Paris.
