Description from the seller
OLORES is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work is built as a sensorial evocation where color and matter awaken olfactory memory. The composition gathers everyday objects —a bottle of perfume, a lit candle, and a vase with flowers— arranged on a tray that suggests intimacy and ritual.
The intense red background envelops the scene in a warm and vibrant atmosphere, almost enveloping, where the flowers seem to expand beyond the physical space, as if the scent were made visible. The whites and pinks of the petals float lightly, contrasting with the deep greens and the decorative blues of the vase, creating a balance between energy and delicacy.
The candle, with its soft light, introduces a dimension of calm and reflection, while the perfume bottle —closed, but present— suggests a contained promise: the scent as something invisible but powerful. The brushwork is free and expressive, especially in the background and the flowers, where the painterly gesture reinforces the idea of diffusion, of something dissolving into the air. In contrast, the objects maintain greater definition, anchoring the composition in the tangible.
OLORES is a work about the intangible: that which is not seen but felt deeply. A painting that invites memory, to imagine fragrances, and to inhabit that invisible space where memory and the senses meet.
