Description from the seller
Who Am I
Who Am I is a photographic project that investigates identity as a fragile and mutable construction. The portrait becomes a space for questioning more than for definition, a place where the image does not offer answers but opens up questions.
The subjects are photographed in a suspended dimension, deprived of narrative and temporal references. The gaze, the body and the posture become essential elements of a visual language reduced to its essence. Light accompanies the figure without fully describing it, leaving areas of shadow that suggest what remains invisible.
Identity emerges as a process, not as a result.
Each image is a tension between what is shown and what is withheld, between presence and absence, between recognition and distance.
Who Am I does not seek to represent the individual, but his/her possibility of transformation. A project that invites the viewer to reflect in the image, recognizing in the other a universal question.

About the artist:
I am Erminando Aliaj, an artist and photographer based in Brescia. My passion for photography has grown over the years to become the heart of my artistic and professional path. Through my work I explore themes such as identity, diversity and human connections, seeking to tell stories that go beyond what is visible, to evoke emotions and reflections.
My photographic research has led me to travel in South America, Southeast Asia and many other parts of the world, documenting places and people with the aim of creating a universal dialogue through images. I enjoy working with settings that go beyond the urban context, preferring symbolic scenarios that enhance the relationship between body, space and narration.
I have exhibited my works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. My photographs have been published in magazines such as Vanity Fair, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Elle Spain, Corriere della Sera, Repubblica and others.
I have photographed many famous artists including Stefano Bollani, Marie Agnes Gillot, Fatima Robinson, Irene Grandi, Bob Sinclar, Ermal Meta, Colapesce and many more.
