This serigraph from 1972 is a strong example of Guy Vandenbranden's constructivist and geometrically abstract visual language from the early 1970s. The composition is built up from sharply defined diagonal and cube-like volumes in contrasting fields of purple-gray, black, white, and intense orange. The subtle perspective shifts and the tight rhythm of the lines create a spatial tension that is characteristic of his oeuvre.

Vandenbranden was a central figure within Belgian geometric abstraction and active within the international networks of concrete and constructivist art.
