Description from the seller
Overview
A classic L.U.C. open-face pocket watch with strong traditional Swiss character, featuring a clean white enamel dial, black Arabic numerals, and a well-balanced subsidiary seconds layout. The silver case keeps the presentation elegant and restrained, while the signed movement and richly detailed inner cover add depth for both collectors and enthusiasts. The real appeal lies in the clearly signed 15 jewel movement and the period charm of the decorated inner cuvette.
Technical and condition details
Open-face mechanical pocket watch with crown winding.
Signed L.U.C. on the dial. White enamel dial with black Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6, and ornate openworked hands. The layout is classic, clean, and easy on the eye.
The movement is signed L.U.C. Déposé and further marked Ancre, Ligne Droite, Levées Visibles, Balancier Coupé, 15 Rubis, and Spiral Breguet. It is a traditional Swiss lever movement with 15 jewels and strong period character, with an attractive bridge layout typical of antique pocket watches.
The inner cuvette carries decorative medal motifs and presentation text, adding to the visual and collectible appeal. The inner case shows the L.U.C. factory mark and 0.800 silver mark, together with serial numbering. The outer back has an engine-turned finish with a central vacant cartouche.
Diameter approximately 50.96 mm. Weight approximately 87.28 g.
Running when tested. No long-term accuracy test has been performed.
Visible age-related wear is present, including surface scratches, edge wear, minor knocks, and areas of oxidation. The inner cover also shows handling marks and age-related surface wear. The dial presents well overall, with normal signs of age consistent with an antique pocket watch. Please study the photographs carefully for condition details.
