Description from the seller
“Premonition” or the foreboding. Print on high-quality Hahnemuhle Photo Rag. The format is 22x30 cm and has a small white border. This is the second edition of 12 copies. The photo is part of the series: “The Last Days of Leo Snoep,” the resistance fighter from World War II. Entrepreneur Leo Snoep, owner of the Machine Factory on the IJssel, was actively involved in the resistance during the war. He was arrested and disappeared without there ever being clarity about charges, investigation, or trial. After mistreatment he was shot dead. How and where this happened exactly is not resolved to this day. In this photo, “The Premonition,” Snoep stands by the IJssel, just before the start of his workday—a quiet moment, charged with what is yet to come. The photographer reconstructs in a photo series the last days of Leo Snoep: an attempt to make the unsayable visible—between history, loss, and imagination.
