MODEL HISTORY
The Stanwell company was founded in 1942 in Copenhagen by Poul Nielsen.
During World War II Denmark could not import English pipes, and Nielsen began producing high-quality Danish pipes.
In the 1950s-70s Stanwell became the leading global brand of the Danish school, collaborating with renowned designers such as:
Sixten Ivarsson
Jess Chonowitsch
Tom Eltang
In 1982, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the company (1942-1982), Stanwell produced the Jubilee series, with various classic shapes numbered.
