Description from the seller
Lot of 5 original fashion illustrations by Mila Piccinini – 1970s – numbered models with technical texts – Italian sartorial archive
Five original fashion figures of Italian fashion signed Mila Piccinini, sourced from a sartorial archive and referring to production in the 1970s, with progressively high numbering indicating an advanced and structured phase of the collection work. Each sheet bears the model number and a typed technical description, elements that confirm its concrete use within an atelier.
The sheets, about 35 x 23 cm each, show a precise stylistic coherence, with elongated figures, clean construction and genuine attention to the garment’s fit. The line is decisive, color is used functionally to describe materials and volumes.
The lot includes:
Model no. 921
Made in macramé lace.
Model no. 927
Model no. 958
Charming summer dress made in Scottish silk.
Model no. 986
Model no. 995
Only size 48. Made in light linen, with a pattern of perforated inserts.
Model no. 1000
The high and continuous numbering suggests a broad and organized archive of which this group represents a coherent selection. The typed descriptions are not ancillary, but operational tools designed to guide sartorial realization.
The context is that of mid-to-late 20th-century Italian fashion, when drawing was an integral part of the production process. In these works one can clearly read the transition from idea to construction. Materials such as linen, silk and macramé lace indicate a concrete production, aimed at real clients and an active tailor shop.
The conditions are consistent with age, showing signs of time, light abrasions and natural yellowing of the paper.
These are authentic working documents, hard to find in homogeneous groups, with strong archival coherence given by signature, numbering and technical texts.
