Description from the seller
You are bidding on a high-quality, handcrafted violin by the renowned luthier Reinhold Geipel.
The instrument was made in Mannheim in 1963 according to the original label.
The violin impresses with a very beautiful choice of woods and craftsmanship:
• Top: finely figured spruce.
• Back: beautifully flamed, one-piece maple back.
• Varnish: gold-brown spirit varnish with lovely patina.
• Condition: The instrument is in very good condition and shows only a few signs of use, see pictures.
In addition, a hard-shell case with shoulder rest is included.
The instrument is overall 59.5 cm long.
The body measures 35.5 cm (upper 11.5 cm, middle 8.5 cm, lower 15.5 cm)
As described, violins and bows listed as 'certified' or 'attributed' include pictures of their certificates and therefore carry a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin and age than instruments described only as 'labeled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we make no warranty.
