From a young age, he has been fascinated by the rural architecture of his surroundings, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadow projections of water palmtrees—elements that would become the foundation of his visual language.
Having always lived in his native region, Nguyen Robert over the decades developed a deeply contemporary, modern, and decidedly architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while preserving a poetic sensitivity rooted in Vietnamese culture.
His Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul infuses softness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works.
