Description from the seller
Original work by master Manuel Viola titled Los Gallos, executed in oil on canvas and signed.
The composition features two roosters facing each other in a scene of dynamic tension, resolved with a gestural, vibrant brushstroke, charged with energy. The intense reds, electric yellows, and deep blacks build a dramatic atmosphere that directly connects with the material expressionism characteristic of the artist.
The strength of the stroke, the gestural charge, and the chromatic contrast place this work within Viola's most powerful language, where figurativeness becomes pure pictorial energy.

ABOUT MANUEL VIOLA
Manuel Viola (Zaragoza, 1916 – Madrid, 1987) was one of the leading exponents of Spanish informalism and a founding member of the historic group El Paso, together with Antonio Saura, Manolo Millares and Rafael Canogar.
His work is part of major public and private collections, and his career is linked to the renewal of postwar Spanish art. Viola developed his own expressionist language, characterized by chromatic intensity, violent gesturality, and a strong emotional charge.
His market is well established in national and international auctions.
