Touching diverse textures, shaping them, giving them new value and an expressive form. To observe my works perhaps one can start here. The figures emerge with a few lines from mysterious and tangled backgrounds, always fixing the ending of a story. Therefore the sensation that pervades the viewer is to share a very precise moment expressed by an instantaneous and unforgettable emotion. The colors surge and blend, producing clamor and low-frequency music. An apparent silence, then, that manages to intercept and evoke in the observer individual experiences and old memories. Staying to look at my works is like looking at ourselves in that fraction of lived time, and in this intimate exercise nostalgia takes over. Perhaps for these reasons, each painting feels familiar from the start, and benevolently consoles us. Passion, fear, pain, detachment are just past, and encountering them outside us is comforting. The colors sometimes are fiery and sometimes acidic. Only in mature age did I decide to share my art, and thus in the last six years I have participated in several group exhibitions between Palermo, Cefalù and Milan up to the role of artistic director for a charity exhibition for Operation Smile.
My painting is the continuous search for peace. A peace understood as inner serenity, which I seek throughout the entire process of work and which I gradually achieve at the end of each painting.
This is how I manage to explain my world when I am immersed in painting.
My work is characterized by a collection of moments, moods but above all emotions. If emotions are missing, the artwork is missing.
We can do perfect work in minute details, but if we do it mechanically without any emotion we have deprived it of its soul.
Touching the material gives me emotion.
Applying the base color gives me emotion.
Finding the alchemy between colors gives me emotion.
The last touch of color gives me emotion because it is the most seductive part.
The hope for every artist is that these emotions can be transmitted to the viewer, and I, like others, hope that this happens.
I’m not so crazy as to demand that every one of my works please everyone, but I am crazy enough to hope that it can move everyone.
