Uccello sulla spiaggia, an oil painting from Switzerland, dated 1910–1920.
Description from the seller
Maurice Ramart (1864–?)
Long-beaked shorebird with prey – naturalistic poetic scene
Oil on canvas
Elegant painting depicting a wading bird caught in the act of catching prey along a shore. The composition is essential and refined, with a delicate rendering of forms and a harmonious use of soft tones.
The setting is built with few elements – stylized vegetation, water and naturalistic details – that evoke a calm and decorative atmosphere, close to the sensibility of the late nineteenth century.
The brushwork is light and controlled, with particular attention to the details of the animal and to the rendering of textures. The work stands out for the balance between naturalistic observation and stylized interpretation.
Signature visible in the lower left corner.
Dimensions:
64 × 36 cm
Conditions:
Overall condition good for its age. Painting surface with light wear, small abrasions and signs of time.
The work presents a superficial patina and would benefit from cleaning to fully regain the original luminosity of the colors.
Some irregularities of the canvas and minimal diffusely distributed oxidation marks, visible in the photographs.
Shipping:
The work will be prepared and packaged with the utmost care using professional materials.
However, postal shipping is not the ideal solution for artworks or fragile items. We cannot guarantee the absence of damage during transport, especially for works with frames or delicate elements.
Shipping to the European Union and international destinations may take longer and is subject to customs duties, VAT and import costs, entirely at the buyer’s expense.
In case of return of goods, all incidental costs will remain the buyer’s responsibility.
Collection in Geneva is strongly recommended.
