Description
Elegant desk inkstand from the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period, made in patinated bronzed spelter alloy with refined naturalistic decoration.
The base is richly adorned with vegetal elements and a mythological faun/satyr figure, a typical symbolist iconography spread in European artistic production between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
In the center is the original faceted glass vase with a metal cap, intended to contain the ink.
The piece represents a classic desk accessory of the era, intended for professional studies or representative desks.
