This work consists of lines and color planes. It features lines like those drawn by a child and symbolic shapes. During this period, Klee continued to depict his unique humor and internal themes such as "angels" while being conscious of death. This work visualizes the invisible rather than reproducing the visible.
Artist Profile:
1879: Born in Switzerland.
1898-1901: Studied at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts under Franz von Stuck.
1911-1912: Participated in "Der Blaue Reiter" and interacted with Kandinsky and Marc. Influenced by Delaunay's colors in Paris.
1914: Established a unique style after a trip to Tunisia.
1921-1931: Taught at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau.
1933: Exiled to Bern, Switzerland, following oppression by the Nazis.
After 1935: Continued creating while battling scleroderma.
1940: Died near Locarno, Switzerland.
