Description from the seller
Title: The Other Shore
Original work in a contemporary naïf style that depicts a festive scene in a coastal town. The composition centers on the dialogue between architecture, human figures, and the marine landscape, using a vivid and contrasted color palette that reinforces the celebratory nature of the scene.
At the center of the work, a group of characters participates in traditional dances, generating a sense of movement and rhythm. The urban environment, with façades in bright colors facing the sea, creates a luminous, Mediterranean atmosphere.
The artist incorporates recurring symbolic elements in her work, such as the clock, alluding to the passage of time and the ephemeral nature of the moment, and the bunting, associated with celebration, collective identity, and community life. These elements add an additional conceptual reading to the figurative scene.
The composition also introduces a second narrative layer through several figures situated on the opposite shore, in a contemplative attitude, establishing a contrast between participation and observation, and suggesting the coexistence of different perspectives within a single experience.
The work is part of contemporary figurative art, with a personal naïf language, and highlights memory, everyday life, and human relationships in shared spaces.
