Description from the seller
Original and highly unique artwork, straight from the artist's studio! A renowned artist with (inter)national sales and exhibitions.
Mixed and artisanal technique (based on his own photographic work) on sustainable wood. The photo is mounted on the wood and accentuated with acrylic paint. Then damar resin and light-yellow beeswax are burned onto it with an original and authentic developed technique. This makes the artwork rich in texture with mostly vertical lines (due to the resin/beeswax burning process).
Materials used include: wood, photo, acrylic paint, filler, damar resin, light-yellow beeswax and varnish (matte).
Hanging conditions: never outdoors, in direct sunlight or humid spaces.
The top layer of the artwork consists of a special varnish that protects it from dust. The work is signed on the back by the artist. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity. The artwork is carefully and professionally packaged and insured for shipping. With the Track&Trace code the package can be tracked right to your door.
When purchasing two or more works in the same auction, you only pay shipping once.
Rouzbeh Tahmassian, an established visual artist from Rotterdam. His work has been sold and shown worldwide for over 15 years. The unique combination of techniques and materials and expressive imagery make his work highly sought after.
With a strong presence and success on leading online platforms and galleries, demand for his work has grown enormously in recent years. His work is mysterious and stimulates the viewer's imagination. His art is continuously in motion and not limited to figurative; abstract, portraiture, and sculpture also form part of his oeuvre.
As the artist himself describes: “I use many different materials such as wood, paint, (bees)wax, sanguis, gold and silver, cotton and several types of resin. In advance the frames are set, but the creative process only begins once the first hand is laid on. Here I let my feelings guide me. There are then no boundaries to what I can do. I am always looking for a new effect, a new image, in search of the unknown. I feel that there is always more to discover.”
