The translator of this work, Josep Melcior Prat i Colom, together with one of his friends, an Anglican pastor, who maintained good connections with the Bible Society and the Foreign Bible Society of London, were invited to the home of another Anglican pastor, the Reverend Cheaps and Irving, with then Canon of Barcelona Félix Torres i Amat; this was a decisive factor in achieving the complete translation of the New Testament into the Catalan language and that the London Bible Society would become the publisher; it was the first work published outside Catalonia due to exile.
