Description from the seller
Pair of leaf-gilt wooden frames – Italian craftsmanship – 1960s–1970s
Elegant pair of decorative carved and leaf-gilt wooden frames, made in Italy between the sixties and seventies in keeping with the tradition of Italian decorative craftsmanship.
The frames feature a richly worked structure with classical-style ornamental motifs: volutes, floral elements and small decorative details that recall the style of frames with Baroque and Rococo tastes reinterpreted in late 20th-century decorative production. The workmanship highlights good execution quality, with clearly defined carvings and a warm, luminous gilding that enhances the surfaces and reliefs.
Inside there is a lighter inner band that creates an elegant contrast with the external gilding, giving greater visual depth and making these frames particularly suitable for enhancing prints, small paintings or photographs.
Objects of this kind were very common in Italian domestic decor of the 1960s and 1970s and today are especially appreciated for their ability to fit both classical environments and more eclectic or contemporary contexts, where the gilding and decorative richness create an interesting stylistic contrast.
The prints shown inside the frames are for illustrative purposes only and are not part of the lot for sale.
Ideal for collectors, interior designers, or anyone looking to embellish a wall with an elegant, timeless decorative element.
Dimensions of each frame:
Height: 40 cm
Width: 35 cm
Depth: 4 cm
Good overall condition, with light signs of age consistent with the objects’ vintage.
Proper packaging and trackable shipping across Europe.
