Celso Tempia (1907-?) - Marina (Laigueglia)

A fine painting by Celso Tempia, oil on panel, depicting a seascape in Liguria. The title is written on the back of the panel in his own handwriting in pencil, “MARINA” (Laigueglia) with his signature.
Signature on the painted panel at the bottom right with the year ’52. Frame size 80 x 70 cm, the painted panel measures 60 x 50.
Original frame with conservative restoration, the structure and period materials were kept.
Celso Tempia (Bonda - Mezzana Mortigliengo - Biella, 1907), a 20th-century landscape painter. In 1957, in Biellese, at Bronda he painted on his father’s house the “Madonna del Sassoferrato”; in 1967, he frescoed the “Madonna del De Bosis,” a reproduction kept in the nearby Oratory of San Rocco.
In 1973 he founded and inaugurated in Bonda his own studio, frequented by Italian-French artists “Frères d’Art.”
