Description from the seller
From the Derivas series
Unique work
In Derivas, Ella Suárez develops an inquiry into the landscape understood as an expanded field, where forms are not fixed, but move, transform and continually reconfigure themselves.
The works sit in an intermediate territory between the recognizable and the abstract. Through undulating structures and transitional planes, they evoke reliefs, horizons and geographic features that do not belong to a specific place, but to an experience of landscape in constant change.
The concept of extended landscape runs through the series as a way of thinking the environment beyond its physical limits. Space dilates, the horizon decomposes and depth is constructed through layers that fold, open and overlap. In this context, relief ceases to be stable and becomes a living matter, subjected to processes of mutation.
Color acts as both structure and energy. The palettes are organized into transitions that generate tension and continuity, articulating a visual rhythm that suggests displacement, atmosphere and time. Each plane responds to an internal logic that balances density and fluidity, building a landscape that never presents itself as definitive.
In Derivas, the landscape ceases to be an image and becomes a process: a way of perceiving in which matter, color and time are in a state of permanent transformation.
Authenticity of the work:
Each work is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, guaranteeing its authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the painting surface.
