Description from the seller
Overview
This Omega pocket watch stands out for its exceptionally clean and restrained design. Its most notable features are the plain steel case and the Omega 161 movement.Without heavy ornamentation, the watch has a refined minimalist presence that feels unusually modern for a vintage pocket watch. With its original style old chain, it offers a complete and very attractive presentation.
Technical details and condition
Mechanical Omega pocket watch with a clean white to light cream dial, simple baton hour markers, double baton marker at 12 o’clock and a crosshair subsidiary seconds display at 6 o’clock. The dial is signed Omega and has a very balanced minimalist layout.
The watch has a plain steel case with a smooth back cover free from elaborate engraving. This gives the watch a more restrained and practical character, allowing the proportions, lines and material quality to stand out. Compared with more decorative antique pocket watches, this example feels cleaner, quieter and more modern in appearance.
Inside the case back are Omega Watch Co., Fab Suisse, Swiss Made, Acier Inoxydable and 1180-62 markings, indicating a Swiss-made stainless steel case. The movement is signed Omega and marked 15 Jewels, and the Omega 161 movement designation is visible. The movement number is 19666591. The Omega 161 movement is an especially appealing feature here, with a compact and orderly layout, gilt-toned plates and strong visual contrast against the steel wheels.
An old chain is included.
Diameter approx. 49.29 mm. Weight approx. 68 g.
The watch is running normally, but it has not been tested over a long period.
Overall condition is good. The dial remains clean and elegant with normal light age-related traces and fine surface marks. The case shows light scratches and edge wear from use, and the plain back cover remains honest and understated. The movement presents well, while the inner case back shows expected opening marks and normal age-related wear.
Collector’s highlights
Plain undecorated case with a very clean vintage look
Attractive Omega 161 movement
Minimalist dial with baton markers and crosshair subsidiary seconds
Clear inner case markings for Omega and Swiss stainless steel construction
Strong overall coherence between dial, movement and case signatures
Comes with an old chain for a fuller presentation
