Description from the seller
Description of the work:

Valentin Prévot's work is realistic and figurative. Through his drawings and paintings, he carries out a political and identity research process on his own history as well as that of his family. His current artistic work aims to pay homage to him but also to preserve his ideas and his journey, to anchor them in time.
With the help of portraits, paintings/drawings, and the willingness to understand and appropriate this history, Valentin has been working for several months now on a series of “graphic objects” and installations intended to complete this archive background, to add his perspective, his sensitivity, and his voice as an artist.
Some of his works are inspired by Schiele, Kokoschka, but also by German Expressionists such as Dix or Grosz. The central theme of his work is the questions of transmissions and intergenerational traumas. Valentin has understood that through this history he could address all the topics that personally matter to him, such as questions of identity, the work of research and transmission, ideological, philosophical, and political excesses...
